Microneedling is an electronical device with a dozen micro-needles that apply 1,300 micro-penetrations per second into the skin. These mild punctures stimulate the production of growth factor, collagen and elastin and thus normalize the skin. It also helps increase product absorption.
What can Dermapen be used for? Superficial wrinkles Skin texture Pores Scars Melasma and pigmentation Increase product absorption, including Platelet Rich Plasma
What can I expect during the procedure? The skin is anesthetized with Lidocaine cream and cleansed. The microneedles are then applied to the skin.
What will I look like after microneedling? Microneedling requires minimal to no downtime. Patient may be red and bruised for 3-4 days.
How many sessions do I need? We typically recommend 3-5 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart.
How long will the effect of Dermapen last? Effects may be noticed 6-8 weeks after the last treatment and last for a year to 18 months.
What are the side effects? There are minimal side effects. Microneedling is safe in all skin type, including Asian and African American, without the concern for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Aside from redness and bruising, there may be itching, stinging and tightness for few days.
