Is Double Eyelid Surgery Right for Me?
Also known as Asian blepharoplasty, double eyelid surgery aims to create a natural crease and contour for the upper lid or to enhance an existing eyelid crease. It is primarily associated with individuals of Asian descent; however, the surgery is appropriate for anyone who wishes to enhance their eyelid crease and fold.

Dr. Phan typically performs double eyelid surgery in-office while you are under local anesthesia. The incision is made across the length of the eyelid or with 5 to 6 tiny cuts at a pre-determined height. This incision will become the new crease. After removing any excess skin and fat, Dr. Phan forms or enhances the eyelid crease by securing the skin and muscle to deeper layers of the eyelid with internal sutures.

What To Expect After Double Eyelid Surgery
While individual healing rates can vary, here is what you can typically expect after surgery:
Days 1 to 3: Stay home and apply ice to reduce bruising and swelling.
Day 7: Sutures are removed; you may resume exercise, bending, and heavy lifting.
Day 7 to 10: You can return to work when comfortable.
Day 14: Most bruising and swelling have subsided.
Months 1 to 4: Final results take shape as the deep tissues heal, swelling resolves, and scarring fades.
